Below are some sculptures and models that I have restored or repainted for both myself and customers.
Doris Lindner Jersey Bull with the common problem of a broken tail. Restored with epoxy putty and painted to match original colour with acrylic paints.
Lineol or Elastolin Moose, major restoration. Missing body parts, flaking paintwork and cracks.
Lineol and Elastolin Ibex and Oryx from around 1930s, maybe older.
A commission to fix and repaint. These composition models are tricky to restore as you cannot get any water on them. So before you start any work you have to glue any loose parts or breaks and then varnish the entire model. I kept the original horns of the Ibex as they were beautiful just as they were.
Lineol Black Rhinoceros. As you can see there were several things that needed attention with this model. A leg and ear were missing, so I had to sculpt new and attach to the original model, drilling a hole and reinforcing with wire to help secure the new parts. Finishing with a complete repaint in acrylic paint.
Lineol Oryx, this Oryx had its horns missing so I had to sculpt them from scratch. I've painted this one trying to mimic what the original paintwork might have looked like when it was first painted.
Repainted plastic figurines
Gharial Crocodile made by the well known toy brand PAPO. Repainted with acrylic paint.
CollectA Hereford Polled Bull, repainted a bit more realistically with acrylic paints.
